White as Snow

It’s one of those frozen cheeks mornings on the trail with a fresh layer of new snow before me. The snow is reflecting the low rising winter sun and presents to me an illusion of an undisturbed bed of shimmering gems. It is captivatingly beautiful! It’s also a reminder.

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…”  Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)

Amazing how God sees the believing child of God like the reflecting gems in the new fallen snow.

If I should count them (God’s thoughts), they would be more in number than the sand…  Ps. 139:18 (NKJV)

If God’s thoughts to us are as the sand of the earth, then the shinning flakes of snow are the winter sand. The snow speaks of the great saving love of Jesus who shed His precious blood to wash us whiter than snow.

About the Ordinary Hiker

A Christian camp director for many years, I enjoy ministry and being outdoors. I refer to God's creative wonder as the testimony of creation, a special place where God brings His word to life. Its where I like to be and where God speaks in His gentle voice in the awe of His creative work.
