30 Seconds or Lose It

The TV show is a “Minute to Win It”. In real life communication, you have 30 seconds or you lose it. That is, to get your message out.  So whether you’re in the elevator, on the jet plane, making a speech, recruiting staff, making a donation pitch or making announcements, have your speech ready. This assumes that you know your mission and your purpose is clearly articulated. Start by crafting the essence of what you do into ten words or less. If you can’t do this you lose, your mission is drifting away. Your audience won’t remember more than that. Have a good hook and memorable story to make your case. If you’re successful, you’ve made your connection and your time will be well spent. How did I do?
