As a boy I planted a tree of life. The seedling I rescued out of the window well would be replanted and then transplanted into a new church yard. It would be a giver of life and stand as a symbol of life.
Nurtured and given life it would provide fresh air, a place for birds to sing, and provide squirrels their food. Under its shade is a place for rest, children’s play or a friendly chat. Drive by and you see its beauty gracing the skyline.
Prov. 15:4 Speech that heals is like a life-giving tree (NET Bible, bible.org)
The tree is the emblem of life and growth. So Proverbs thoughtfully says that carefully seeded speech fosters life. Speech that heals, soothes, encourages, teaches … grows a resilient – magnificent tree of life.
