A Christian camp director for many years, I enjoy ministry in the out doors. I refer to God’s creative wonder as the testimony of creation. A special place where God brings His word to life. Its where I like to be and where God speaks in His gentle voice in the awe of His creative work. That’s why I still seek to have a ministry impact in Christian camping.

My purpose:

Give short, quick hitting post to keep busy ministry minded people focused on ministry. To help sort through the distractions required to operate our ministries. And ask the question, “what is keeping us from actually doing ministry?” Or, “Am I really doing ministry?” Especially Camp ministry.

It’s not so much another how to do it Blog. It’s more about keeping focused. Asking the questions that keep us putting the kingdom first in our ministry. It’s about simplicity, efficiency, effectiveness.

It will make for good accountability without all the guilt. It won’t be asking you to do more. I’ll probably ask you to do less. I think ministry, of any size or shape must be simple, focused and about touching the hearts of people.

It’s a work in progress. But it’s been stewing in my mind for a long time. There will be a little flurry of initial post, then future weekly post.

Great to see you are alive and well. Don’t stop. Don’t even think about it. Put me on your list. Barry

Your heart for God and for Christian Camping is showing. I remember when you left Lake Ann in 1984 that you would see Bill Roloff’s name in the headlines of Christian Camping.

Thanks Eldon. I tried to step away, but it seems I just keep coming back to camping. I’ll serve in a different way perhaps, but I trust the Lord will use me to make an impact for His kingdom.

I often look back to the lessons that I learned while serving under your ministry at Skyview, Bill. You made a lasting impression on my life. Your love for God and His people is evident…I know that He will continue to use wherever He has you!

Hi there, thanks so much for stopping by the Sunshine Scrapbook and liking my post on the grey-headed shrike 🙂 Keep up the good work with your ministry!

  5. I live to garden which includes helping to maintain two church properties. As I plant perennials or pull weeds in front of Mary’s statue, I feel a connected. Ministry outdoors? I don’t know, but it feels right for me. Good luck with your ministry. 🙂
